India Autism Center is searching for an Education Director. The Education Director would be in charge of one of the three verticals of India Autism Center, i.e., the Training Academy. In addition, the Education Director will lead in establishing and overseeing all operating systems to support the planning, management, and delivery of the Academy's vision. 

The vision of the IAC's Training Academy is to create an experienced, trained, and specialized task force. Moreover, the training academy aims to turn students into employable professionals nationally and internationally to serve the needs and demands of mental health. 

The training academy is vital to serving the needs of India Autism Center's comprehensive campus at Sirakol. The Education Director is responsible for plugging in resources (preferably) from the Training Academy to fill responsible roles of the Clinical organizational chart at Samavesh, the comprehensive residential campus at Sirakol. 

Roles & Responsibilities: 

Developing the Academy: The Education Director is responsible for 

  • Creating the philosophies that the Academy will stand by
  • Developing organizational policies, principles, and procedures required for its effective administration
  • Ensuring that the policies are effectively practiced by putting systems that allow for it
  • Authenticating the Academy's formal status by bringing in credible affiliation from national and international boards of education

Networking: 

  • Build professional relationships - Bring in partnerships from reputed institutions around the globe. 
  • End-to-end communication - Develop a communication strategy to be engaged with our collaborations. 

Conceptually Creating the Curricula: The Education Director will be responsible for 

  • Monitor progress of new and existing teaching methods.
  • Integrating curricula that is relevant to the job market of social sciences today.
  • Supervising the faculty requirement for rolling out the curricula decided upon. 

Executing the Curricula: 

  • Vetting and Onboarding - prospective teachers and other staff
  • Bringing Short Term and Long term partnerships/affiliations - for courses, workshops, diplomas, degrees, etc. 
  • Admissions - strategizing branding and marketing that will lead to excellent turnout for the programs offered at the training academy.
  • Digital reach of our programs - building a good online presence through educational platforms like Youtube, offering online courses etc

Ensuring Placements: 

  • The education director must also partner with employers to ensure that the percentage of students who graduate from our Academy are placed in jobs of their choice.

 

Requirements: 

Professional Knowledge and Experience:

  1. Advanced university degree from an accredited educational institution in education, organizational development, and management, social sciences, or related field;
  2. At least ten years of work experience in international education program management, coordination, or advisory role at an accredited university, governmental or international organization, of which at least (preferably) five years must be at the international level, outside one's home country.
  3. Excellent command of spoken and written English.

Competencies: 

  1. Experience in planning, monitoring, implementing, and coordinating courses from the ground up in the field of education. 
  2. The ability to think strategically and develop and manage the Training Academy. 
  3. The ability to establish networks in a multicultural environment and drive cross-sectional partnerships where necessary. 
  4. Sensitive to neurodiversity and respect for diversity. 
  5. Build teams and drive them to bring about the vision of the Academy by motivating them and setting clear expectations and goals. 
  6. Strong interpersonal skills. 

Desirable Competencies:
